Default title

This Sunday morning at 10:30 we will continue our sermon series from 1 Corinthians, “Christians In Camouflage”. The message for Sunday is titled, “Building On A Solid Foundation”, taken from 1 Corinthians 3:10-15. Plan on being present.
Also this Sunday is “Grandparents Day” and we will be giving honor and recognition to all grandparents. We will have a special video presentation and each grandparent will receive a special gift.
On Sunday, September 16, we will be thrilled to welcome “The Jackson Brothers” for a concert of music at the 10:30 worship hour. If you do not know who “The Jackson Brothers” are, let me introduce them to you – this is Art Bush and Marv Westfall. Many years ago they were part of a group called “The Jackson Brothers”. Now they are traveling together again and singing. It will be a great day. Clear your calendar to be present for this very special time.
In my study and preparation I came across some interesting quotes about pride. Consider:
“Pride is the only disease known to man that makes everyone sick except the one who has it.” – “Uncle” Bud Robinson
“It is our of self-love that all other evil passions spring.” – Alexander Whyte
“Pride is the ground in which all other sins grow.” – William Barkley
“None are so empty as those who are full of themselves.” – Benjamin Whichcote
“A man wrapped up in himself makes a pretty small package” – Anonymous
“An egoist is someone who is always me-deep in conversation.” – Milton Berle
“Did you notice how we shook that bridge?” – a flea to the elephant on whose back he was riding after crossing an old bridge.
Pride is a monster that will destroy you. If we do not put pride to death it can and will destroy us. On September 23 we will be talking about pride and how to kill it in our lives.
Just reminding all of Central’s men – PRAYER BREAKFAST, Saturday Morning, September 8, 9:00 a.m. A great meal together and some of the best fellowship this side of heaven.
