Default title

Joan and I returned home from spending time with our youngest son, Steve and his wife Tabitha, is Naples, Florida. We were able to spend the week of Thanksgiving with them and our second son Daryn, his wife Eve, and their children: Josie, Mason, and Gavin. We were reminded of the blessings God has poured into our lives. Our firstborn son is Andy, who is married to Elaine and they have one daughter, Layla. Our sons and daughters-in-law and our grandchildren are such a blessing and we are thankful for God’s goodness in bringing them all into our lives.
Now we are preparing for the Christmas celebration. At church we will be sharing a Christmas sermon series, “Who Needs Christmas?” Perhaps you have asked that question yourself. We will look at the various people who need Christmas. Christmas, of course, is so much more than just the opening of packages on December 25th. Christmas is the coming of Jesus Christ into the world to save sinners. We are pretty certain that the birth of Jesus probably did not happen on December 25th precisely. But what is important is that we recognize that Jesus has come into the world to be the Savior. The simple answer to the question, “Who Needs Christmas?” is EVERYONE! Every one of us are sinners and every one of us need a Savior. If Jesus has not come then there is no forgiveness of sin and there is no salvation. So, let us sing “Joy to the world, the Lord is come!”
December will be a busy month for Central Church of Christ. There are many activities taking place and I encourage you to check out the calendar and plan to participate in some of the special events. Something new this year will be the ‘Christmas Gathering.” This will be on Monday night, December 17th, at 6:00 p.m. This will be a time of Christmas celebration. We will have finger foods and we will sing your favorite Christmas carols. It will be time of making memories. This will be for the entire family, so come out and share this special time.

I am looking forward to seeing you this Sunday, Lord willing.
