2019 has arrived. The anticipated day was marked with world-wide celebration. Perhaps you had your own celebration. With the number of years adding up for me now there isn’t as much late night celebration as in years past. Nonetheless, I am thankful for God’s blessing and goodness in giving me opportunity to see the beginning of another year. My prayer is that 2019 will be the best year yet.
At Central Church of Christ we are still focused on getting a new worship facility and I believe we are closer than we have been before to make this a reality. We have been in talks with a contractor and are waiting to hear from him regarding cost. We are still in the process of raising funds for this needed project, so if you would like to contribute you can do so by either sending a check or checking the online giving box on this site.
This coming Sunday, January 6, I will begin a new sermon series from the book of Jonah. Jonah is a short book of the Old Testament – only four chapters. This can easily be read in just a little time. I encourage you to read through the book several times during this month of January and you will have a good foundation for the messages to come.
On Sunday evenings we will begin a new study also. This study is by J. Warner Wallace and is titled, “Forensic Faith”. J. Warner Wallace is a former atheist who was a homicide detective in the Los Angeles Police Department. He became a believer and has shown us how to establish what he calls “evidentiary faith.” We will be sharing this study on Sunday evenings. Why don’t you join this study? It will be beneficial for not only helping you know ‘what’ you believe but also ‘why’ you believe it.
I hope to see you in the assembly this Lord’s Day.
