PREACHER’S BLOG

We are at Palm Sunday marking the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, beginning the last week of Jesus’ life on earth. The crowd was enthralled as Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey. What a difference this was from the normal way dignitaries and leaders in battle entered a city. They would be riding on the back of a magnificent horse receiving the adulation of the people. Jesus came in humility.

At Central we are looking at a sermon series, “This Is Love.” We have talked about “Love That Forgives Sin” and the 2nd sermon is “Love That Conquers Death.” Next Sunday is Easter, Resurrection Sunday, and we will have a message titled, “Love That Makes All Things New.” Join us for our services. On Easter Sunday we will have a Sunrise service at 7:30 a.m. We will meet on our parking lot, weather permitting. If the weather does not cooperate we will meet inside. Breakfast will follow at 8:30. An adult Bible study meets at 9:30 and the worship assembly will be at 10:30. I hope you will make plans to be with us on Easter Sunday.

Because of Jesus’ resurrection we look forward to the time of our own resurrection from death. But not everyone has this hope or even believes in a bodily resurrection. According to a survey by the Scripps Howard News Service and Ohio University, most Americans do not believe they will experience a resurrection of their bodies when they die. Only 36 percent of adults surveyed said ‘Yes’ when they were asked, “Do you believe that, after you die, your physical body will be resurrected someday?” Fifty-four percent said they did not believe and 10 percent were undecided. What do you believe? Will you be resurrected from death to a new life? It is only through having Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord that we can know for certain that we will be raised to live again forever. Is Jesus Christ your Savior? Please contact us for more information about how to have Jesus as your Savior.

We are making good progress toward building a new worship facility. We are awaiting the final approval for our loan and the approval of plans and permits to get started. Hopefully by the middle of May we can begin to see some dirt moving. If you would like to make a contribution to our new building fund you can click on the giving icon on the web page or you can send a gift. All gifts are tax deductible and greatly appreciated.
