Preacher’s Blog

We give all PRAISE to God above. We have received word from The Solomon Foundation that our loan has been unanimously approved for our new worship facility. Our plans for construction can proceed.

On Sunday, June 23rd, we will have a Ground Breaking service. Following our morning worship assembly we will gather on the west parking lot where the new facility will be constructed. We will have some songs of praise and some appropriate Scripture. Then we will break the ground for the beginning of the new facility.

This has been a longtime dream and vision for many at Central. It is a great joy and blessing to see the dream becoming a reality. God is good and He has led us to this point and we are confident that He will continue to lead and guide and provide through the completion of this project.

We still believe that God has great things in store for Central Church of Christ. Central has a long history in the Portsmouth community and we are thankful for and mindful of those who have gone before and made such sacrifice. Now we are at that place where we have opportunity to leave behind us a legacy of great things accomplished for God. Those who have gone before us left us with great accomplishments to work with. Now each of us need to ask, “What will I leave for those who are coming behind me?” There are still great works for us to do in the name of Jesus Christ. There are still many people in our community who need Jesus Christ in their lives. This will worship facility will be one of the means by which we can reach people for Jesus.

We have secured our loan, we have some funds on hand and we still are in the process of raising more funds. If you would like to contribute to this project you can do so by sending your tax-deductible gift to Central Church of Christ, 1211 Grandview Avenue, Portsmouth, OH 45662, or clicking on the on-line giving icon on this website (Easy Tithe). Just earmark your donation for New Building Fund.

All Praise To Him Who Reigns Above!
