It has been said, “None of us knows what the next change is going to be, what unexpected opportunity is just around the corner, waiting a few months or a few years to change all the tenor of our lives.”
This past Sunday, June 23, was one of those days when we began to make history for the Central Church of Christ. We held our ground breaking service for the new worship facility. Our contractor, Bob Wilson, spoke and told us that by mid-August we will be moving dirt and beginning the construction phase. This is one of those changes that will affect our lives and the lives of those in this community.
We know that our new building will be attractive and will be a setting that is conducive to worship and serving the Lord. Hopefully some will find it attractive and will begin attending and will seek Jesus here. However, we also know that it will not be the building alone that will attract people to come to Jesus. That is our work. That is what God has chosen us to do. We are to go with the message of forgiveness and salvation to those of this community who are lost without it.
We look forward to the completion of this new worship facility and the time when we can dedicate it to God and His service. We will be making announcements for this in the near future. We hope to be in our new building within six months. We hope that you will be excited and will want to worship with us.
