For a point of information – the Yee Haw Vacation Bible School for Saturday, August 17, has had to be postponed due to a scheduling conflict. We will reschedule the event ASAP and will publish the new information.

This Sunday morning, August 18, we will have our annual Worship/Picnic day. This will be held at Riverside Park on U.S. 52 West just outside of Portsmouth. We will have our morning worship assembly beginning at 10:30 at the park and our picnic will follow. We will be meeting in the big shelter house. Food and drinks and table service is being provided by the church and we are asked to bring a dessert to share. There will be inflatables for the kids to enjoy as well. There will be no evening service at the church building.

We continue to move forward with the new building. At this time we are waiting the final approval of our plans by the state. Soon, hopefully by the end of August or the first part of September we will see dirt being moved and we will know that we are moving closer. All in all our expectations are that the new structure will be finished within six months and we will be able to meet in the new worship facility by the end of March at least. We continue to raise support for the building and if you would like to make a gift for the new building you can direct all contributions to the new building fund at Central Church of Christ, 1211 Grandview Avenue, Portsmouth, Ohio 45662, or you can make an online gift on this website. Just go to the home page and click on Easy Tithe to make your gift. All gifts are tax deductible.

We will host our annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Banquet on Thursday, August 22nd, at 6:00 p.m. This is a way in which we can show our appreciation for and give honor to those who serve us in this capacity. We are thankful for the service these men and women give on our behalf. When you see our officers please be sure to tell them ‘Thank You” for what they do. Also we are asking that you help us by providing gift cards from any of our restaurants. These should be for at least $10 and they are given to our officers as a token gift.

We just finished our Sunday night studies with Rase Martin, Executive Director of Kyowva Evangelistic Association. Rase led us in six studies on “Attributes Of God.” He did a tremendous job and this was a very thorough study. I would highly recommend you contact Rase to present similar studies. You can visit the Kyowva website to learn more about this teaching program.
